I hate capital one.

First my credit card gets stolen. Not your fault. You send me a new card -- with the same number. I complain. You send me a new card with a new number.

Then you cut off my online account. I change my mailing address. Maybe there was some confusion. But after the stolen card incident, I didn't hear from you for two and a half months. No calls. No bills. No mail. Not a big deal though, because hey, after you guys fucked up the replacement card, I didn't use that card for anything. Not one purchase.

Then out of the blue, I get a bill for $150 in the mail.

How does a card that has not been used generate a $150 bill? Curious how the bill doesn't actually say what the charges are for. So I call and I ask. What do you tell me? My statement for the past two and a half months is not available. Um. You're the credit card company. You want me to pay you $150 without telling me what it's for?

Does anyone know how much it will hurt my credit score of I cancel my goddamn capital one card?

Depends how long you have had your account with them. If it's your oldest one, you should hold onto it because it shows how long you've had credit for.

Also, don't forget your credit score is also based on your total available credit, so by cancelling cards, you are bringing that down, which can actually HURT your credit score.

Crazy, I know. But you just might be better off hanging onto the card and not using it.

I think it's best to stay away from this company for your financial needs, if you want good customer service! I too have had both credit card and banking issues with Capital One. Don't be fooled by the rates. The service is bad, they hold your deposits for 5-10 business days and direct all your credit card calls to another country! How about the hassles!

I am hearing more and more horror stories about the terrible things Capital One does to it customers. I was one of the horror stories and trying to contact them and resolve an issue they created was an unbelievable journey. In working with them to resolve my problem they even mistakenly sent me other peoples account information. The only way I got the issues resolved is thru the Better Business Bureau and by contacting an attorney. They still burned me on my credit rating which they promised to resolve. Stay as far away from this company as you can!

I have had a card with them for 12 years, they now reduce my limit and tell me it is permanent. I paid tehm off and cancelled them. I am a homeowner with an excellent credit rating and they refuse to raise my limit back to what it was. What a bunch of jerks!!!

I don't give a damn about how much my credit score will be affected. I refuse to keep dealing with these bastards! I get a $30,000 pre-approved car loan from them but they can't increase my cc limit by $200?!? I closed my credit card today and I will never use them again. I will not be a slave to creditors!!!!

I have been a good customer with them for 11 years and for the first time in my life due to salary and hours being cut, I am having financial difficulties. I was up front with them and said that I wanted to make sure they got paid and could they combine their credit card with the unsecured loan of theirs (I have paid off two other loans early in the last 11 years) and take the term to the max which would lower my payments and help me out of a jam. Even with a credit score of 775 and a perfect history with them they said there is nothing they can do it is two seperate divisions. They would rather not get paid then work with me. What a horrible company. I am going to be all over the internet encouraging people to cut up their Capital One card and mail it to Leslie Spencer c/o Capital One Bank PO Box 85619 Richmond, VA 23285-5619. Make sure Capital One is NOT in your wallet. Thanks for letting me vent.

THE MANAGERS WHO WORK AT CAPITAL ONE ARE ACTUALLY DROP OUTS FROM HUMBER COLLEGE IN TORONTO. MOST LIKELY ARTS STUDENTS WHO WERE CAUGHT SMOKING DOPE IN THE LOUNGE MORE THAN ONCE.....I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF THEIR TOTAL LACK OF COMPETENCE IS TO BLAME FOR GLOBAL WARMING. THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY RUN THIS MONEY GRUBBING WHORE HOUSE OF CASH ARE MOST LIKELY DEFEATED LIBERAL POLITICIANS BECAUSE LETS FACE IT....NOBODY CAN STEAL AS MUCH AS THOSE ASSHOLES!

Capital one are evil and incompetent. If you can get away at all you're lucky! They violate consumer protection law, make customers pay for their mistakes, worst credit card company ever! They have been harassing my wife for an old bill that was dissolved in the courts, but they decided harassing my sweet wife might force her to pay a debt no one owes them anymore. How do you get rid of them!
